Big Success!!

Well folks, the race has been run and (most of) the money has been collected. This was my first attempt at fundraising and I learned a lot from it. To the point, I learned a lot about people.

I learned about people like you, because if you're reading this page it's very likely you were a donor to this charity. Why did you do that? Ponder on that for a moment...why exactly did you hand me money to feed somebody else's kids? That was money that you worked for, you earned it to feed yourself and your kids, not some stranger you've never even met.

Why did you do that? Why did you give up that money?

I didn't pressure any of you, but you all donated. (Except maybe my ex-wife..I never heard back from her. I guess maybe she used the paypal link?) Anyway, one of my coworker's friends wrote a check for $50. I've never met that person. We got a paypal donation from a guy I've never even heard of...we don't even know how he heard about the fundraiser

Why did you people do that? There was no public recognition for donating, no glory.....nothing to benefit you in any way.

I know why you did it.

You gave away your money so you could sleep tonight knowing you were a part of the first Annual Biking For Baby Food fundraiser that collected over $1,ooo to help newborn children in need. That's right, I said over $1,000. As long as everyone sends in their pledges or uses the paypal link, this thing will have generated over $1,000.

Well, there's a smile.

I know I was smilin' when I walked into the Samaritan Center and handed over a PILE of cash and checks, and it's all because of you.

I can't say enough how extremely proud I am to call each of you my friend. This started as a way to stay athletically motivated and developed into something far greater. I learned a lot about you. You're great people, and now we have something to be proud of for the rest of our lives. Thank you for being a part of this.
